The Executive Board meets three to four times per year, including the annual conference, or as directed by the President.


If you're new to PennACE but would like to get involved, we recommend volunteering for one of the PennACE Standing Committees.

Annual Conference Committee

  • Coordinates annual conference site, speakers, hospitality, meals, and room arrangements.
  • Determines conference fees and coordinates registration.
  • Notifies membership of conference via listserv and newsletter; notifies potential members through emailing or emails.
  • Conducts evaluation of the conference as appropriate.
  • Works with the Communication Chair to update conference information and registration forms on website.

JoAnne Day Student of the Year Award Committee

  • Notifies members of award criteria and process for selection of award winners.
  • Collects and reviews nominations and selects winners in each category.
  • Notifies award recipients and works with Treasurer to make financial award.
  • Notifies all nominees of selection status.
  • Works with Communication Chair to publicize winners.

Grants Committee

  • Determines timeline and adjusts Requests for Proposals as needed.
  • Notifies members of Requests for Proposals and the process for selection of grant recipients.
  • Collects and reviews proposals and selects winners and level of funding.
  • Notifies grant recipients and works with Treasurer to make financial award.
  • Works with Communication Chair to publicize grant recipients and for project write-ups in newsletter.
  • Coordinates the presentation of projects for the "Best Practices" showcase at the annual conference.
Government Committee
  • Identifies individuals within state government with whom to communicate.
  • Provides state government officials with appropriate information and data concerning job and internship issues.
  • Learns what state job and internship initiatives are being planned and implemented.
  • Serves as an advocate for PennACE to state government officials.
Professional Development Committee
  • Identifies and seeks to cooperate and establish partnerships with other professional associations, consortia, and groups working in PA in similar issues as PennACE.
  • Explores opportunities to provide professional development activities for PennACE members.
  • Identifies professional development topic(s), contact presenter(s), coordinate logistics related to site, handles marketing, and facilitates activities on-site for each professional development program.
  • Develops timeline for planning and implementation process.
  • Collaborates with Communications Chair to market event and establish online registration.

Employer Relations Committee

  • Identifies and seeks employer partnerships across the state to develop employer relations. 
  • Coordinate recruitment and engagement opportunities with employer across the state to increase PennACE membership. 
  • Identifies and provides hot topics and best practices to employers related to career services.
  • Host networking receptions and other employer related events.
